Datenschutz — Ultraschall-Simulator
Was nie gespeichert wird
- Keine Kamerabilder. Die Hand-/Sondenerkennung läuft ausschließlich in deinem Browser; kein Bild verlässt dein Gerät.
- Keine Namen, E-Mail-Adressen, Matrikelnummern, kein Freitext.
einen Code eingeben (z. B. GK26-047). Das Speichern des Codes schaltet die Statistik ein;
Privacy — Ultrasound Simulator
On your device
The simulator keeps your course progress, your settings and the course codes you entered
on your device only (your browser's localStorage). This is needed for it to work
and never leaves your device.
Usage statistics — only with your consent
On your first visit the simulator asks whether it may send usage statistics. Before you agree,
nothing is sent and no ID is created. If you say yes, it sends to this website's server
(hosting: world4you, Austria):
- a random installation ID, created only once you agree (no account, no name),
- course events: step started / passed / skipped, time taken, hints shown,
- if you have a course code: that code's course group (e.g. "Grundkurs 2027"; in a study, the study group A/B) — not the code itself,
- which dataset was loaded, screen size, frame rate, error messages,
- how often console controls were used (counts only, no images).
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time.
Never stored
- No camera images. Hand/probe tracking runs entirely in your browser; no image ever leaves your device.
- No names, email addresses, matriculation numbers, no free text.
- The statistics contain no IP address and set no cookies. (The web server itself keeps the host's access logs, like every web server.)
Study code
If you take part in a study you can enter a code under menu ☰ → Privacy & data
(e.g. GK26-047). Saving the code turns the statistics on; your events then carry a pseudonym of that code (a string computed from it, not the code itself) so
they can be assigned to the study. The code → person mapping exists only in the study documentation,
not in the usage statistics.
Personal course code
If you received a personal course code (a code just for you, without your name), the server stores — to
manage access — only the day of your last access and the number of days with access: no IP address, no device,
no statistics. This lets your course see whether a code is in use. Your course sees your progress (steps, exam results)
only if you agreed to the usage statistics — then under a pseudonym, never your name. Entering a course code alone is
not consent.
How long
- Personal course code and day of last access: until your course deletes you, at the latest 12 months after your course group ends.
- Usage statistics: 24 months, then deleted.
- On a shared computer: at the end, remove the code from the device with Course → Leave course.
Your control
- Agree or withdraw: menu ☰ → Privacy & data → “Share usage statistics” (ON/OFF). Switching it off deletes the ID on your device.
- Deletion: clear this site's browser data (progress and ID are lost), or request deletion of the server data for your ID — shown in the privacy menu while statistics are on.
- Contact and controller: Impressum.
